15.8 - 19.9.2015

Great Gifts Of Chance taget form.

With the title of the exhibition kindly lent by Danish filmmaker Jørgen Leth we can appropriately remember the scene from his film Moments Of Play (1986), where tennis player and artist Torben Ulrich is dipping the tennis ball in paint and repeatedly hits it up on canvas. The ball's imprint are part of the final works composition and leaves the actual execution to always stand and quiver in the pictures. With the opportunity to display a series of these works the group show Great Gifts Of Chance have taken shape. It presents works where 'chance' plays a part of the execution and the process plays a key role in the result. The finished work will never be just the seemingly, it will insistently point on its history and invite us to explore it. In some of the works the story is written long ago, in others recently and in a few it will actually be written during the exhibition.
